Seriously. Both Homura and Sayaka are such lovely people

Sometimes I wonder what Kyosuke would've done if he knew about Sayaka's sacrifice. Clearly, he didn't think of her as an important person, so he probably wouldn't felt awkwardly indebted

And even if he knew, wouldn't such an action be considered selfishness? After all, is it not a form of manipulation to perform such martyrdom? Should someone who doesn't love you feel *compelled* to love you just because you did something like that for them, without their knowledge or consent?

No. No, they shouldn't. And Sayaka learned that the hard way.

Such a lovely person with such simple wants, but so confused and misguided as to how to achieve them. Ah, Sayaka..

>>10717281

That's not what you should take away from her story. If you want something, go for it. She wanted Kyosuke, but made excuse after excuse for why she didn't deserve him when HE didn't come to HER

Neither life nor love will wait for you. Hers was a cautionary tale of what happens if aren't honest with what you want and earnestly try to achieve it. She just made sacrifices and hoped things would work out for her due to some greater karma or power of love, like a romance story. They didn't. It's not ignoble to have wants and needs. Follow your heart and go for what you want with all your passion and soul. That's what she taught me

I haven't played the PSP game. I probably should, but hearing stuff like that makes me frown a little bit. It's not like I mind happy endings, but really? He confesses? He basically treated her like a used sock after he got out of the hospital. Didn't even dignify her with a phone call. That doesn't strike me as the type of guy who secretly loves someone

Yeeeah. Not a huge fan of the ending either. Not because hurfdurf parroted latin phrases, because the entire anime quite clearly set up Madoka's wish for it to be something big, but because it just kind of came off as a little lame. "Oh. Well, Witches are wished away forever now. Okay." and that's kind of that. It was a huge setup, and the payoff only felt impactful if you had any emotional attachment to Madoka, and it was really hard to when she spent the entire series being the worst character. Really, you just feel bad for Homura

Madokami was neat and all, but, really, Madoka was the least interesting part of the show

I think Kyousuke did think of Sayaka as an important person, since they were childhood friends and all. He just didn't ponder much on all she did for him in the hospital, because he was too absorbed over his broken hand. And he could rule it off as "that's just how Sayaka is", rather than the everyday visitations and delving into interests to spend money on music for him to listen to meaning she had romantic feelings for him. I'd like to think he did finally grasp the weight of all she did in ep 12, but shit, it's too late --she's gone.

I don't think anyone could seriously hold it against her if she went after him ("seriously" because there will be those who say she was only in it for dick and that would prove it, as they do already), instead of this complex about refusing rewards. Good intentions and ordinary wants. But the magical "ally of justice" was a bust, because Sayaka was a weak, unskilled noob trying to do something noble (and which protects her friends and family) but is realistically a waste of magic and presents no rewards. Not being able to meet standard took a toll on her, along with the romance stuff.

The Different Story presents a scenario where Mami is alive because Sayaka slayed Charlotte and the "I'm a zombie" drama that took a hit at Sayaka's self-esteem didn't come into play. Sayaka still struggles over Hitomi's ultimatum, because of how a relationship would affect her superhero work.

I really don't buy that. That's just not something you do to people. I get he's self absorbed at the time because hey, his musical career was nearly fucking ruined and he lost what he loved most in the world. Guy's going through some issues

But to just forget about her like that? Such simple callousness isn't the type of thing I ascribe to longterm friends. It's the sort of thing people do when they didn't really want you around in the first place

When a pursuit is everything you have in life you can go insane from injuries which affect it. This is actually pretty widely explored among obsessive sportsmen/artists because they tend to reinjure themselves repeatedly in their desperation to get back into the game and can totally ruin their careers over a six week break.

I'm serious about a sport and came very close to an enforced 3 month break after tearing a muscle slightly, during the time of uncertainty before they confirmed it was minor I honestly couldn't think about anything but the injury.

Kyousuke is supposed to be a violin wizard and likely had the rest of his life riding on that hand, I understand how he could become extremely and chronically distressed and emotionally disturbed by having it in such a state.

Sayaka is a childhood friend so he probably just takes her compassion for granted anyway. Long term friends, especially those you treat like family, are easy to treat carelessly because them already having stuck by you for years and years gives you a lot of confidence in them forgiving you for just about anything, and makes you feel less inclined to put effort into big gestures that could be better spent on riskier more intense short term acquaintances. It's funny how people are so callous towards those they should by all means cherish more than anything.

Exactly as >>10717558 articulated. As soon as Kyousuke got his magical fingers back, he wanted to get to where he left off as quickly as possible. He was too caught up in his reintegrating to even warn Sayaka about his discharge or seek her out in school. That's the sort of thing you can do if you're too comfortable with someone.

Even without knowledge of her wish, with serious consideration on his part, Kyousuke could still recognize Sayaka as the reason he didn't give in because of the compassion she was showing him and encouragement she was giving him. It was the end of the road for an artfag like him, if not for her taking the leap.

But I didn't like that, either. Madoka is superior childhood friend. She wants nothing more than to do something for Sayaka, since Sayaka has been/is always looking out for her.
