It's best to think of the 48/46 group as a training ground for your "real" career. You won't get paid much but you'll free training for singing, dancing, and acting.

I admit I'm relatively new to Nogi46, but their concept always sounded like an exercise in self-restraint to me.
Alright, they want to be AKB's rivals while having a slightly lower number of actual members -- but at the same time they decided to have no teams or theater of their own, they're holding significantly less events so as not to step on AKB's toes and even in terms of TV and magazines they're being quite selective (for one, I noticed they're avoiding pin-up magazines on purpose).
I don't know how much of these accounts are true and not just stories being told for fun, but it's clear that their policy will bring in significantly less revenue in the long run.

Hmm. The director of the PV is a successful, middle-aged female director (Ninagawa Mika; also directed Sugar Rush, among other things). I understand you may consider it suggestive, but considering her work and such I'd guess it's more of a girl point of view thing. If you've seen anything by her, the style is very much like her, and since bathing together is a form of bonding for female friends, so it suits the "pyjama party" theme well. Maybe I'm not just lewd enough when I see it that way.

Of course, that doesn't change that it seems suggestive to some. Luckily, Jurina is more of a precocious exception whom they always cover(ed) up for the summer single than someone who they'd sell for sex appeal though - it could be they actually needed to cover her more than the kami7 for the Hebirote PV, and this was Ninagawa's way of doing that without making her stick our like a sore thumb.

Overall in my personal opinion these things are handled quite well in 48 though, since a lot of other idol groups market younger girls in a more suggestive way with clear, profit-oriented intentions, which I really dislike personally.

Some of the girls what they might "lose", or rather, see, would be going down the ranking, which means that they have less fans supporting them. Also, they might get a result lower than expected.

This would be the case of Miichan, due to the scandal and how she handled it, it might affect negatively to her ranking.

Also, girls like Tomochin and Tomomi might not get as good results as they'd want, the first one because on the 3rd and 4th elections she got much lower than what she got in the 2nd (while none of the girls that surpassed her were new, so it's not an issue of newcomers) and she might want to go with the result she got in the 4th sousenkyo instead of risking on going lower.

Tomomi might not want to risk her ranking due to the photobook scandal even if it happened quite a while ago.

I think they will both use the fact that they are graduating to not take part of this.

Brain scientist here. It's not real as in "99.9 %" like the doctor says, but it's not all lies either. If I'm right about which kind of machine they use, it works by measuring skin conductance, which increases in automatic nervous system reactions. She's 星野 in the list. 18 members have blocks sold out, she has none despite having only 8 blocks and being in the front row for 4/5 of their singles. Since the start, her popularity has actually waned rather than grown. She's very quiet, shows no emotion, doesn't try very hard and wotas report lackluster, even impolite handshakes. She kind of has a "spoiled" aura, but in a way most don't find funny or endearing. People feel bitter about their more popular oshis making effort to get into hachifukujin - which is kind of like Nogizaka's "kami 8" - to no avail, while Minami is guaranteed her front row spot every time.
