On another note: The Fairy Maids that work at the Mansion do so in exchange for food and shelter. They do not get paid. This is explained in canon in Sakuya's PMiSS article.

Presumably the human villages runs its economy like a regular human village would. Reimu is sustained by things that fall in from outside and faeries get by on theft. Where the named character households get their money is more of a mystery.
