Mhm, that's quite a bit more difficult since the per-user limit status is not stored clearly in the database but it can be done.

Once I get motivated again, after finishing the inline modal popup project (following a public test to make sure it works for all people with all their obscure browsers) I think I may go ahead and tackle this. But it will be quite a bit later from now, probably late January-February 2013.

I wrote the script in an hour or two, but with proper backend support, such as a JSON endpoint providing search results, this could work much better.

I updated this script to show how long one must wait before requesting new songs is possible again. The detection is kind of flaky (it watches req.php) and doesn't deal with dynamic queue changes (e.g. it always assumes two songs per 10 minutes), but it appears to work most of the time.

I think that was a different まさみティー file that the script broke on a while ago. I uploaded a few versions with progressively more English in the tags until it worked and that was probably one of the intermediate ones.

The Now Playing page keeps getting borked. The queue often disappears. When I reload the window after a while, it returns. Sometimes. Sometimes, it doesn't. It's rather mysterious. When that happens, other pages, such as the FAQ page, come up empty, too.

Does the websight not handle long tracks well? For Shiraha - 東方連奏曲 Pianoforte (25:19), the remaining time starts at 0:30 every time and counts down from there, even if the page is reloaded manually.

Why is Shoutcast such a piece of shit software? I specified a backup file just in case, and it proceeds to load the complete file into memory at startup and keeps it there forever, even if it might never be needed.

Is it really that unfeasible to optionally queue songs after uploading? There's no way to update the song database apart from waiting for the next sweep by whatever runs in the background to manage the library?

Requesting new music seems to be exactly twice as complicated as it could be.

Fucked up tags will be recognizable easily enough on the now playing page, though. I thought about a few ways to implement auto-queuing client side, but it all comes down to the fact that there is no sure-fire way to identify a song by only artist name and title (especially if the encoding was fucked up).

Try my script from >>10279227 . Just upload a file using the 'Upload and queue' button and keep the page often afterwards for a while. The page will automatically be replaced with the request dialog as soon as the file has been found, giving you some opportunity to fill in your mascot of choice.

I didn't do much testing, as I didn't want to upload thousands of shitty songs, but it should work in most cases. Or, so I hope. Just don't upload files with faulty tag encoding, because I'm pretty sure that mojibake will not lead to correct search result. Because of this, the file will never be found, and cannot be requested automatically.

Whenever you stop listening to music for a few hours, can you remember what you were listening to last?

I don't consciously try to remember, but it seems to somehow get stuck in my head subconsciously and I can almost always remember what it was as soon as I think about it. Does this happen to anyone else?
