Not drinking tonight, I'm still about 3 months away from being able to purchase my own so I have to wait until it is bought for me tomorrow.

Speaking of which, I intend to try rum. Can someone recommend a good one for ~20 bucks? I was going to go with Captain Morgan's, but I don't completely understand what spiced rum is or if that's something I would want for the drinks I intend to make-- rum and cokes, pina coladas, etc.

i don't much like rum because it's too sweet but if you aren't used to alcohol then it helps adjust you to the bitterness of it, especially if you mix it with coke or something

That's a perfect amount if you get the pacing down. For me it's usually a fifth of whiskey down the gullet in a night, but the other night I tried vodka for a change (vodka has always been mean to me), and it was only half the bottle before I puked and passed out.

What ind of whiskey are you getting? They should both be 80 proof so I doubt you can get down an entire fifth of one and not even a half of the other
