Moriya Shrine. Aya and Hatate will probably appeared since this'll be their next scoop.
Hall of Dreams' Great Mausoleum except for probably Tojiko, but then again the aerial combat might be a possibility for her.
Nitori and Wriggle's chances are very slim unless they finally get patched into 12.3 which is still highly doubtable.
Yuuka, Kaguya, Mokou? Overpowered.

Suika probably wants to cause a ruckus with Yuugi in the human village, but Yuugi might be classified as overpowered too.
Kasen? There's a possibility on that, she would've been TD's EX.
Hell maybe we'll see the Aki Sisters, since all the religious goons are all gathering faith and shit but now I'm just talking crazy.
Koishi has a chance since she wanders around everywhere, it might be fun seeing her.
Rin? She'll fit in somewhere. Random characters always do.
Utsuho? There's a possibility that she's still dicking around places but highly unlikely.
Satori, Yamame, Kisume, and Parsee are obviously out the question.

Suika not being in a tasofro fighter is unlikey. Suika being in means no Kasen. I also really doubt it'll stick to the theme as closely as some people think. So cross off Kanako, Shou, Futo. Add neutral characters like Alice, Aya, Suika.

Its also possible that the head of those factions won't necessarily be the representative in the game. ex: Sanae

You know, this game got me to thinking that I'd absolutely adore ZUN if he made a game revolving around the four devas of the mountain and used the chance to bring back Konngara and some other PC98 characters

WaHH seemed to really be going in an interesting direction, with some actual hints of a plot emerging, what with Suika and Seiga. It's such a shame that it was never capitalized upon and that ZUN already moved on to another manga, likely meaning the end of WaHH

I'm leery myself, but I wouldn't feel right arguing against it before the game even comes out. Experimentation is a good thing! I only hope they try to remember at least some traditional fighter game design guidelines so they don't go absolutely bonkers..

If they were reusing the old sprites, you'd probably be right. But since they're redoing the graphics, there's no pressure to bring the old characters back.

But one thing I realized yesterday: There's probably someone at Tasofro that loves Meiling. And ZUN probably indulged them by including a joke story mode for her in Hisoutensoku.

It would be weird if Aya wasn't in this. Afterall, she is a newsreporter. I do have a feeling Komachi, Tenshi, Iku, Cirno, Hong, Suwako, and Okuu will get taken out. I also don't believe Kanako will make it in. If they did the same demo like they did for Hisouten, it would be Reimu, Marisa, Aya, and Alice. If they do decide to include at least one new character from the cast, either Aya or Alice will be taken out of the demo. Marisa and Reimu is a given.
