I think what's happening in the manga is that this is the first time she's hanging out for long with Teppei in the loops and she keeps having traumatic childhood flashbacks during it, which end up reminding her of her own humanity, contrasting with him not being as violent as before. Although I don't think he'll be completely reformed in the manga. Note that this scene is based on a VN one, but there Teppei doesn't go in after an assurance from Satoko.

Then her actually going through with her plans in spite of these feelings will be her witch side effectively burying her human self, leading to Neko.
