You like the novel "Starship Troopers" by Robert A. Heinlein? Most people write it off after having seen the movie directed by Verhoven, but the original text is much more serious, and frankly better written. The plot is largely based around an imagined future centred around a liberal junta, as oxymoronic as it might seem. Indeed, I think it correct to assume that the actual "plot" of the book only serves to explore how such a society would function, and expose it's perceived advantages by the author. Some people, Verhoven chief among them look at the book's martial themes and assume it to be promoting facism due to the assumption that because all facists glorify the millitary, all people who hold the millitary in high regard are facists. This is a clear fallacy however, one best illustrated by a simple venn diagram of two intersecting but not necessarily concentric circles, illustrating that because C is a set of A and a set of B, object D that is a set of A does not have to be a set of B also.
However, such information is lost among those who wish to push their own ideology in their media, who willfully or not choose to ignore such logic.
