There were some articles of clothing strewn about the place, too. What looked like Hearn's tabard had been tossed on the couch, and Her dress on the floor in the corner, as if she had tossed it in that direction carelessly on her way to the bedroom. I couldn't figure out what the actual purpose of the room was. If it was a living room, why was it upstairs? Why was there a balcony here? Yamame already seemed to have skipped to finding an answer, because she'd snuck over to the door to the balcony and quietly unlatched it, pulling it open and stepping outside. A little worried, I rushed after her and pulled the door shut behind us, so we were both outside, where hopefully we wouldn't need to be quite so quiet. "Where are we?" Yamame asked me. "It's not as hot as last time. Maybe we're somewhere different..." She trailed off, staring out over the balcony. After a moment, I did the same. "I...Assume we're not on a beach somewhere, right...?" She asked me faintly.

I looked out over a city, much like when Yukari had kidnapped me to Tokyo. This was not the same, though, because there was no rain lashing at us and I could see the snow lying on every surface, illuminated both by the moon and countless other sources of lights coming from the city below. We, it seemed, were at the top of a large building. Cautiously, I took hold of the balcony's edge and poked my head other the side, then swallowed nervously when I saw the long drop down to the ground below. Looking upward, I saw the stars above, but no more of the building itself, so we had to be somewhere on the top floor. The buildings spread outward as far as I could see, with few as tall as the one we were in, all the way until they were nothing more than twinkling lights on the horizon. I squinted off into the distance and tried to make out any sort of end to the city, but failed. No, I whispered to Yamame. I didn't think this was a beach. It looked like a winter city more than anything. Every surface seemed to be either white, or coloured by the lights from the city, like the orange which ran through what I assumed were the city streets. It was a little overwhelming, I thought. With Tokyo, it had been too dark to see anything, and with Australia, most of what had been visible was the ocean. Here, I could see all the buildings, and it was a little hard to comprehend. Yamame, it seemed was struggling too. "It's - It's a little, um, overwhelming." She seemed to be drawing into herself as if she was slightly nervous. "Can we...Go back inside?" She mumbled. I nodded, pushing the door to the balcony open once more and letting my spider slip back inside before me. Once inside, she began to calm down.

I decided that we should probably head away from this room, so we began to creep down the corridor. At Hearn's room, I paused and peeked through the door, just to check if she was asleep. She seemed to be, but there was something of more important. A curious light, emanating from around the door. I reached my hand back behind me to try and catch Yamame's attention, but misjudged where she was and ended up hitting her head instead. "Ouch!" She harshly whispered, and I turned back sheepishly to say sorry. "What's so important, anyway?" She asked with a frown, and I pointed into Hearn's room. "The light? Could it be another of her gaps?" Yamame asked me, her voice quickening slightly. "Let's check." Carefully, I pushed back into the room, hoping that the creaking would remain at a minimum. Once we were inside, I sighed in relief. There was another of Hearn's gaps open, and through it I could see the Shrine. It was still light through there, and I thought I even spotted Reimu in the courtyard, but the gap was positioned in such a way so that she couldn't see it. I looked over at Yamame, who already looked ready to hurl herself through.

And then, it flickered. Just for a moment, but it was enough for both of us to immediately break into a run. We needed to get through before it shut. And for a moment, it looked like we'd make it. But, of course, my luck had the last laugh, and it closed at the exact moment we reached it, sending both of us at full speed into the wall. Of course, that was that for the stealthy approach. I smacked headfirst into the wall, then stumbled backward and fell onto something soft, and Yamame smacked into it bodily before falling straight backward and curling up.

Definitely. Even without considering it would be foolish cheating on someone who could so easily rearrange your organs. I bet it would be a very weird kind of cozy getting out of bed in the morning, doing whatever during the day, then at night getting back in bed with Yukari, who hasn't really moved at all.
