CVB stands for aircraft carrier, large and was exclusively used for Midway-class. Stuff like Taihou, Implacables, Illustriouses, etc. used plain old CV.

You don't. Also CVS is the designation you should use while talking about seaplane carriers while AV is strictly reserved for tenders.

Sorry but it seems that ONI disagrees with that claim.
