Considering they were named after mountains (which was normally used for battlecruisers and later heavy cruisers) propably either as copium to compare them to Akagi (which was originally meant to be an Amagi-class battlecruiser), or because they decided to name another Unryuu-class ship as Amagi after the battlecruiser they had lost to an earthquake.
