What a joke. This is why magic is shit. Self-delusional and ignorance of the current situation. Maria's life was hardly happy or good. She ate alone, had no friends, begged random people for food at times and had to create her own friends to pretend to be happy. Had she accepted the truth, she might have found a compromise with her abusive mother or changed rather than remain blissful of her autism.
Rather than hope for a better future, she should have tried to better herself and make things better. Instead, she did nothing and relied on magic to help her out.
Maria's happiness stop her from achieving true happiness and create a better situation. Maria is an idiot who only half accepted her situation by refusing to do anything in attempt to help her mother.
