I'd not bat an eye if ZUN ever writes a Touhou postscript by the series and casually drops that "then Marisa and Rinnosuke married and joined their shops".

ZUN would probably suck writing romance and will probably never actually touch pairings, but Marisa vs. Rinnosuke would look strange if it didn't happen.

As for the "knows her since she was a little girl", this is the country that produced the Tale of Genji, that ZUN has to be very familiar with (with his whole folklorist hobby). So I don't think that would deter him.
