Actually, you don't have to since there is a fallacy in the statement that love would only be a feeling anyway, as the very act of suggesting that something is a feeling by nature is also suggesting that it is something beyond the mundane and to some extent defies explanation. An attempt to suggest that love is "only" something - thus attempting to simplify it - would be suggesting that it is a process governed by chemical reactions or another physically measurable phenomenon. Thus, by applying an emotional dimension that is not possible to measure scientifically, the attempt at simplification is made moot.
