What's a vocab level?
If you're starting out I recommend reading things you did in English in Japanese like Gyakuten Saiban or even Pokemon or something. That way you're not stuck wondering what's going on with the plot.
The best thing to do though is read things you enjoy. Manga, VNs, Games etc. just things you like.
