This picture has always stuck with me, since the first time I saw it. A gooey, slimy Ran makes me feel so many things.

One time I had a slight hallucination involving Ran. I hadn't slept in several days and although part of my mind knew what I was seeing was bullshit, the other part didn't care. I was tired and depressed, and Ran asked me to come to bed. I did so, and in bed I hugged my pillow, thinking or imagining it was Ran. I don't know for sure. I held her tight and told her I'd always protect her, despite knowing full well that I'm just a puny human. She smiled and told me to get some rest.

I think I was just fooling my own mind, which is easier when you've been awake for a long time and are very tired. I am not a clever man, but I am not insane enough to believe my own mindgames, either.
