Seems like her parents gave her the typical "Asian child prodigy" treatment (not necessarily the most fun childhood...) so she might have gotten stipends or just won them in competitions (like Aiko), or the "gakus are all upper/upper-middle class" kids meme is true and just out of view in this photo there's a Yamaha CS-80 and a DX1.
