When you talk about politics, you talk about power, and power is a funny thing...

Power structures just refuse to die off, they are like living things with strong self preservation and greed, just like humans. As your personal power structure is usually a weak one, you are often told to obey, and that following the law and obeying is the right thing to do, it benefits all, etc.

However, as one gains more power, the less one obeys. Goverments won't obey each other if they have no gain, they don't honor their alliances if they are not beneficial to them anymore, same rules don't apply to them.

Ever heard of power vacuum? It is a place where there is no control of power, so naturally there tends to form some kind of power structure, whether it is a criminal organisation or other form of governance.

Now lets say a politician treathens these existing power structures, what you think would happen? What do goverments do when their existence is treathened, what humans or corporations do? Of course they fight to preserve their power, and in such a fight often the winner is the most powerful one.

If you would somehow suddenly hold a legal right to destroy some of the biggest companies, and would be willing to do so, how long would you live? How long would a politician live?
