I think Miki's upcoming release (JUQ-445) with Reo Fujisawa would have been perfect with Yuri instead. Reo maybe then could have had her big collaboration work with Marina instead; both feel like missed opportunities in casting

If anything, it feels like Madonna have been "poaching" more from fellow WILL studios like Reo and Reina from Fitch, Yuki from Premium, etc. The only recent Center Village signing I can think of is Reiko Seo.

i like your theory and i guess the underlying nuance of these different power dynamics and pairings does matter. maternal and paternal relationships, despite both being "top-down", are really different from each other. so are oneesan/ototo vs oniisan/imouto, for that matter.
extrapolation or corruption or subversion or transgression of the relationship and the resulting flavour of the taboo can definitely be manipulated you're right that lovey-dovey or reipu can appear in any of these pairings but maybe there's an innate/assumed/cultural default that's often gravitated to that makes the most immediate narrative sense?
