If Erika did not exist, then why do the EP6 tips say she is a real missing person, with a living family who have talked about her? And why would it mention that forgers theorize about her being on the island? These details can't be discarded, but if Erika did not exist then they hold no purpose. Erika's real life self doesn't matter in the game boards past this point. Ryukishi wouldn't outright write this for no reason, correct? So why do you think he added this part?
