Firefox was banned from uploading images on /jp/ and /vt/, which then morphed into a sitewide posting ban.
It appears to have been based on the useragent string, maybe specifically Windows Firefox 91, since different versions of Firefox would still work (Firefox 87 (updating to 91 got rangebanned) and the 91 Linux version at least from personal testing).
Posting now seems to be allowed with the 92 release.

This could all be due to the Tor browser reporting as being Firefox.

tl;dr - holofags use Firefox and posted disgusting things.
