Additionally, how do you reconcile the fact that Featherine is specifically said to have told Rika/Bernkastel of a path that she never would have considered if it wasn't for her. Since Featherine is in the OP for the anime, isn't this also in the realm of possibility? Featherine never interacted with Rika/Bernkastel in the original Higurashi, and now Featherine has been explicitly shown in the OP. It feels like you are doing mental gymnastics because you want Rika to have a happy ending.
