Well, like everything else, it's personal taste.
For me, the appeal of Wakaba Onoue is her lovely smile (her retirement video was titled 'Last Smile', they know what they're selling). And also her unique voice. Some people may dislike at her voice, it sounds like a granny at first. But personally for me her voice made her sound older than she actually is. Combined with her bright personality and lovely smile, I see her as a dependable older woman, kinda like an aunt who's always nice to you, a young teacher who you can trust your kids to etc. Again it's personal view. I don't care that much for her body, and of course I don't even care about her doing it with black actors.
You see, I won't see her in that image if I just look and judge her by her pics. I got interested to her in 2013 Bako Bus Tour, then searched for older videos. I got hooked, and hyping up her comeback because I know some people care. If you don't, then it's alright.

Anyway, I just watched her rebirth video (MIAD-841). It's your typical debut video with interview, then titjob, masturbation, intercourse, another titjob, then 3P.She still have those qualities I like and that's all that mattered. She also toned down her moans, I found her exaggerated moans and her tendency to spam 'kimochi' words too much as her weak points in the past.
