The steam update happened in february this year, and it did replace Silver Mirror, Digital Network and a couple of other songs.

You just didn't update the game, that's all.

No, I'm not confusing it with the old mangagamer version. That version replaced all the OG music with music from a weird Japanese mobile port of Higurashi (which has come to be known as "the Mangagamer OST" even though they didn't make it).

The current Steam version was announced as a faithful version that would restore all the original music. But in february this year, they replaced some of the original question arcs music with weird shit from somewhere else.

That statement you quoted is basically a lie now. The update replaced the original music and now it's a weird mix of OG and some other stuff.
