Majin type are stated in a Q&A to simply differ little from normal human women in terms of looks. Basically, she has to put minimal effort to pretend she's human.
Majin family didn't get an official clarification to my knowledge, but it appears it's a narrower category where physical changes to a monsterized woman are even more negligible, e.g. Akaname is a Majin type, but her obvious physical feature means she doesn't qualify as Majin family.
