A-Am I having an intelligent conversation on /jp/...?!

>That's what I meant to say I think.
Clarified in the way that you've now written that thought, you do have more of a point. Such is the double-edged sword of globalization. You allow uninhibited trade and benefit from lower costs achieved through increased specialization, but often at the cost of that specialization resulting in many jobs leaving your country for other countries where the same product or service can be rendered much more cheaply. Or, you prevent offshoring through protectionist tariffs, at the expense of increased prices because domestic producers no longer have to compete with foreign producers. Plus, you're screwed if your economy relies heavily on exports, which is most economies, since the system of free trade keeps everyone in the system through the underlying threat of freezing out a country from international trade through retaliatory tariffs.

The only option for first-worlder millennials born into late capitalism is to hyperspecialize, learn any of the many legal cons in western society, or accept a freeter lifestyle. I have a feeling filthy NEETs and borderline NEET/hikki like us will have to get used to a lower standard of living.
