>She's a special detective.
Yes a special kind.

Beatrice wrote ep 1-2
Tohya wrote ep 3-4 and published it on the internet.
The mystery fans (the goats) got interested in Tohya's work but complained that Battler was shit, so they asked to put their own detective to see if they can get more information and solve what happened on the island. They created a mary sue detective that knew detective tropes and prepared in advance for the murder. Natsuhi was a red herring but the reader was stuck with Natsuhi the entire time, so you as the reader knew she wasn't the culprit, however, the mystery fans were fooled and told Erika to follow Natsuhi. The mystery fans got tricked and solved nothing.

In ep 6, Tohya allowed them to try another time but he planned to just fuck around with them by creating a scenario where everyone was faking being dead. The mystery fans were pissed at how they were humiliated in ep 5 and told Erika to just mess up the gameboard and trap Tohya in a logic error. After Tohya got out, he closed the gameboard and was never seen again.

The point of Erika threefolds. Firstly, she's an example of the extremes of truth and rationality. She is also a representation of the quote from Arthur Conan Doyle ''It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.''. And finally, Erika is a representation of an actual Mary sue of how bullshit most detectives are but with a meta spin. And she's a shit for never solving anything.
