Download a kana learning program (doesn't matter which, they all do the same). Learning kana shouldn't take you longer than 2 - 3 days.
Read Tae Kim's grammar guide http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/grammar
Download Anki and the core2k/6k decks.
Start reading easy untranslated visual novels with a text hooker. Add words you don't know already to a separate Anki deck.

Good luck, either you'll lose interest in 2 months or you'll have enough Japanese skills to read untranslated stuff without any aids in 2 - 3 years.

Yeah it's shit and has barely anything to do with language learning. Sadly mods rather tend to purge the whole thread instead of removing the usual retards.

While this really isn't the thread for that... I don't recommend such a VN for training. Too long, without much to keep your attention. It's likely not going to work out.

Do yourself a favor and find something that interests you and isn't too long. As long as the comedy and/or chuuni or whatever isn't way too big, that's better. Even if it's harder. You want something that keeps your attention.

If you have that much problems, you need to suck it up, or stick to REALLY easy moege. That's just how it is. There are tons of plotge with light Japanese. Which doesn't mean "with only the most common words". But it means the sentences aren't complicated, it's easy to follow, if you know the words and so on. There isn't actually a lot that goes past that. What actually does is sometimes even a little unexpectedly so. For example the Navel trap series could be written off as a simple easy moege, but the main-writing at least is rather.. descriptive? With long sentences and such as far as I remember. Hapymaher could also be rather wordy in some regards. I actually really liked the style in the latter though. The Navel trap series was in my opinion rather boring a lot of the time.

So yeah, this isn't really the thread for you. There may come a time when you just look for something a bit lighter to chill with, but in your case you probably should go to the right thread which is about learning the language. Personally I'd recommend to read a route of a translated VN with the translation ready at first, then go to whatever you really want to read and isn't too long and not care about anything else... provided that's not obvious very high level and you can't connect at all.

If you are new, lemme give you some tips based on my experience.

-As long as you consider yourself new, you may want to stay a bit away from the "bigger" and more popular works, as those are usually popular for some reason. Abuse your own "ignorance" and play some minor stuff first. Check vndb. Look at images, character art and whatnot, find something you like, maybe filter after some fetish of yours or whatever.
To give an example. If you want a trap-protagonist VN, it's a good idea to just play something by Ensemble which most consider not too good, while leaving something like Ruitomo for later which many consider quite worth it even if one isn't into trap protagonist games. Not like you are guaranteed to like the latter or later on dislike Ensemble games.. but yeah.
It won't take long till you are sick of very common eroge issues. I'd argue maybe 2 or 3 works at most. Could be just 1 or it's already to late as well, as you do have some experience already from English stuff.

-Learn to skim/skip. If you want to get more into this medium it's important to know when to draw the line and that it's not always important to savor ALL the text.
Downright skipping stuff is mostly relevant for gameplay hybrids, who often use separate character events along the maingame instead of routes. Which may give gameplay boni, so just "not doing that" doesn't work too well, even if you dislike a character. In normal eroge you just don't play a route you don't want to. If it's enforced, there's usually a reason and skipping may be bad, too.
Skimming however is important no matter what. Parts you enjoy less. Incredibly forced and obvious drama-parts or battles where you know the result anyway and it feels too dumb/obvious. The twentieth long-winded description of how the daily lunch is arranged. Stuff like that. Don't need to do that in all works, but there are still some really enjoyable works out there as long as you know "how" to read it. (multiple authors are a big thing in eroge, as is padding)

Other than that, have fun. The most important thing.
