Having a hard time parsing this sentence, senpaitachi.

＞どれほど愚かな人間でも処理するのは可哀想になった？
I'm guessing it means something like "dealing with so many stupid people became pathetic?", but I feel like I'm missing some nuance. どれほど ～ でも is giving me some trouble because in all the examples I could find they enclosed the object and verb inside, whereas with this one only the object of the clause is contained in it with the verb outside.
