Also this. Even if I did get over all my trust issues, and I did learn to be more patient with people, I just wouldn't be me anymore. I've been this way for so long that to shed myself of that would be to become a whole new person. As much as I used to hate myself, I would never want to metaphorically kill myself by changing who I am.
