>trademark art style
such a thing does not exist. trademark style refers to legal ownership of things like names and logos - brand identity. an artists style is not something anyone can trademark or have exclusive ownership of legally. you also missed the point of my comment on commissions - someone making personal use of AI, someone who was never a target audience for those commissions and was never going to pay for them regardless, has no impact on an artist

you just combined two entirely separate things

>the artists of the world are in threat
technological progress always causes shifts in labor markets, this is not unique to artists. those who work at large companies or use and view their art skills more as a job rather than means of self-expression are threatened to some degree if they do not adapt, but that is nothing new and is often the risk one takes when they try to make a career out of their passion

>plagiarizing machine
using AI to imitate an art style is not plagiarism, it only becomes plagiarism if someone falsely claims they created it on their own, rather than saying the AI used the style of an existing artist to generate it

AI only made me appreciate real human work even more and i'm sure i'm not the only one. your kind of pessimistic declinism helps no one. i could keep on going but this has already gotten way off-topic

and a little bit more on topic - there's a lot of personal value to me in completely customizable imagery of beloved 07th characters. i never thought this would be possible in my lifetime. it used to be that i'd only feel empty yearning after thinking of a scenario with them or how things could have been but there's no more of that. and for franchises like these where the future is uncertain i think it's great. it may be all just headcanons, but looking at the most recent developments and how a lot of the new "official" content is through a gacha, it's some form of alleviating disappointments that come with the current state of things
