I think Furi, Sww and King have seen a noticeable decline in fan base over the last two years. Furis niconama show has lost a lot of viewers and her 1st anniversary stream for her Fanclub members had only ~200 viewers.

Aqours will keep going even without King. They can perform perfectly fine as 8, even if 9 is obviously preferable.
After all, Aqours earn Sunrise literally tens of millions of dollars every year, management won't just switch off that money fountain.
if nothing else Sunrise could still keep CYaRon and Guilty Kiss performing.
And I also assume all of Aqours know that their own success is strongly tied to Aqours success.

Kanako is in deep trouble though, there's nothing worse than an unreliable performer. even if she would make a full recovery, at best she'd be seen as a massive liability.
