I'm not a relgious person, /jp/, I rarely ever think about religion or deities.

However, when listen to Yasaka Kanako's boss theme, tears form in my eyes.

To those of you (and maybe there aren't, but it's worth asking anyway I think) who are actually religious and worship your God(s), do you cry when you hear the music devoted to your God?

Is what I am feeling reverence towards a God?

Also what other music makes you feel this way? Please share.

Then again, Byakuren and her flunkies are all unholy beasts under the guise of holiness. Byakuren herself is a black magic practitioner. I doubt they can handle those weapons without receiving damage themselves.

Which on that note is the unfortunately side of Kanako (and her strength), she's a bit of a brute, she tried to muscle her way into Gensokyo and take over existing religions without any attempt to understand the delicate politics involved. In a way I adore her warlike proactive mentality, but at the same time she lacks elegance. If she wants something, she'll have someone get it directly.

I believe Kanako to be a venerable being that demands the respect of Gensokyo.

I never understood why Kanako got labeled with the "overprotective and motherly" traits like Ran is usually associated with.

To me, Kanako seems like a venerable personage - even moreso due to being a goddess. I'd always thought her to take things very seriously, as opposed to Suwako, who just sort of goes with the flow. Kanako seems like she sticks strongly to traditional values (I mean, shit, she came to Genskoyo to gather faith since the outside world was getting to technological and faith-less), while Suwako is much more flexible in that aspect. Admittedly, using in-game dialogue to determine how a Touhou would act isn't very reliable at all considering how bad-ass Kaguya sounded, but turned out to be comparatively laid-back (among other such transformations from in-game to ZUN's written works), but with Kanako, goddamn.

What a hard-ass, seriously. Hell, in UFO, she tells Sanae to go out to HUNT YOUKAI, not to mention the war she had with Suwako.

Seeing how the in-game stuff is the only thing we've got on Kanako at the moment, I really can't see how they picked up Kanako-mom from it, and I feel it's a serious pity it came out this way. If I had the art skills necessary, I'd make a doujinshi with this godly Kanako.
