Since an update on December 3th, a lot of channels have seen a drop around 30~50% in live viewers, mostly japanese or vtubers related
youtube twitter has thousands of replies a day so it's hard to find them adressing it but I could find some directly aknowledging the issue

it's also discussed a lot on jp forums talking about vtubers
comparing the stats of vtubers videos before and after the bug, there's a clear difference, for example https://i.imgur.com/VCrOmy5.png as you can see the a shorter stream with "less" max viewers has still many more total views by the end, and that's the case for every video since the 3th of december of most vtubers I checked
