There is no distinction between Seshat's avatar and her true form. When she interacted in reality to deal with the traitor, she showed herself but afterwards complained that it drained all her energy. She likely can manifest herself at will in VR because it's a form of communication and knowledge.

I think this scene references the dream sequence alt-Miyao shows Miyao. After everyone is killed, 'something' will harvest everyone in an endless grinder.
I wonder who 'they' are. Surely they're the enemy that want to eat humanity. I bet they're aliens.
