Why does kanji like 砂糖 with many complex strokes only have like one or two syllables? Does it bother anyone else? I feel like kanji with lots of strokes in it should have more syllables to reflect on the stroke complexity of the word. Its like what if the place Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch was simply pronounced with one or two syllables? Clearly the word has more than that because of how complex Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is written out.
