I wasn't a weaboo at all for a long time. I liked hentai and what not for fapping, but for a while I clung to this delusional superiority to weaboos to help me keep my self-esteem.

But after I spent considerable time on /g/ and other such boards, and started watching some slightly unpopular animu I ended up resigning myself to weabooism.

I'm still not attracted to Japan because of anime, but I am attracted to what I've been able to glimpse about Jap culture from Shogun, Murakami, fairy tale books, movies and blog posts and my dabblings in the language.

It's probably not a perfect place to live in, but I think I could do worse, and besides anywhere that's not here is good because I like to run away from my past.

I just wanted you to know.

The U.S. suburbs are statistically nirvana in terms of crime rate, quality of life, everything. The inner cities skew all the stats.

I. HATE. JAPAN.

Chinese came up with fireworks, paper, and sea navigation independently. The Japanese are the ones that are uncreative.

Infact, there's a joke, Tokyo Tower is an exact replica of the Eiffel Tower, except bright orange and "exactly 1.67% bigger". It's a joke on the fact that Japan rips off everyone. Infact, when Toyoda (owner of Toyoda before it became Toyota) was approached by his son, Toyoda Jr., to switch from making looms to making cars, the first thing he did was go to America to steal designs. Then he imported 5 Ford model Ts and disssected them and MADE MOLDS of every part. That's right, the first Toyotas were bootleg Model Ts.

Japan does not encourage creativity, the arts, or even creative writing in it's education system. It's a series of tests on language structure, math, hard science and 'selected' Japanese history over and over year year until they're judge too stupid to invest in and denied highschool. Highschool education is NOT guaranteed in Japan, that's why their test scores make America look pathethic in comparison. In America, a liberal arts degree still gets you some places, while it's obviously not as respected as a hard science degree (income wise), a liberal arts degree in Japan gets you a generic office job at best. Because the system is rigorous throughout (even kindergarten test scores impact college acceptance) and based on side by side comparison with other students (your test scores and grades are posted up for the entire school to see), the 'creative' people who may not comapre are stifled and ridiculed. It's cute for a 1st grader to be a bit 'different' and like to draw, but it's considered quite disgusting by 9th grade.

Japan copies the world and yet hates it with a xenophobia that rivals any other race's discontent.

If being an otaku in Japan carries so much stigma why are there so many of them? Also why don't you ever hear about any kind of action against these otaku and lolicons that are so reviled, such as normal fags picketing stores in akiba?
