Today, all an mmo could offer concerning a walk in the forest is to click or wasd through a tiny one while watching your character's ass run. It would affect two senses, your sight and maybe insignificantly your hearing. Great, what's the point?

In the future (possibly), walking in a forest in an mmo could actually feel like a walk in a real forest, a totally different experience. Oh I'm an idiot, why not just take a walk in an actual forest out there in reality? Well, faggot, not only do I live miles from the nearest one, but a fantasy forest can be far more fantastic than any found in reality. Sure I haven't walked through every forest imaginable in reality, but I sure as hell can't fucking afford to anyway. That's what mmos are for.
