Whose story was sadder, Ange's, Maria's or Sayo's?

I felt most sorry for Ange because although she had loving parents for the first six years of her life, she ended up with a bitch of an aunt to look after her (but who can blame Eva that much) whereas Maria at least had a mother and Sayo had parent figures. Her experience at school seemed worse than Sayo's at school or with the other servants and much longer than Maria's, since she'd only been there for a few years.

I mean when you look at the other facts Sayo still seems worse, and maybe it was the writing, but I felt much worse for Ange in part 4 than Sayo in part 7.
