in my opinion, a lot of original metal doesn't fit those criteria either. iron maiden and judas priest for instance don't have screaming or swearing or anything. their lyrics mostly seem to be about fantasy stuff. it isn't girly at all though.

i don't think it's worth convincing people to listen to babymetal though. mlp is a great reason why

bronies only watched my little pony ironically at first, they expected something barney tier, but they got something adventure time tier. this surprised them "wow! it has a modicum of depth, I actually enjoy this" then, having zero self awareness they think "heh, how zany! i cant believe that a person like me actually likes this show? isn't that silly?" and then we get bronies of today "dudedudeudude you have to watch this its ACTUALLY GOOD i know it's my little pony but it's surprisingly well made and deep!"... considering how many bronies (i assume) listen to metal, i worry that a similar thing would happen to baby metal.
