Gacha characters have to stand out on a small screen even in sprite form. So they're given crazy designs and oversized weapons.
In F/SN Lancer's appearance is striking, with bold contrasting colours and his unusual looking spear.
In FGO he looks like a grunt side character next to the other servants.
Hell even Gil struggles to stand out and his design in SN was supposed to be as ostentatious as possible.
