Actually moot created /jp/ because a few guys e-mail bombed him hard with complaints about /a/. That's all really. As the name "Japan/General" implies he didn't make a set topic or anything.

At the name change he later posted that "you should ignore content you dislike" (see pic). This would imply that any content relating to the name change (otaku culture) is well, related to /jp/.

But my main point is after all this time I've seen no proof that certain subjects are banned. This is why I go with the "post whatever you wish" mentality, and why I feel people going "well you shouldn't post this" are making up their own rules at their own convenience.

Unless someone can prove me wrong, of course. To be honest I find this stuff pretty interesting (3-4 years later and we're still talking about it).
