When Ran follows Yukari's will, she can obtain power equal to Yukari's level, becoming much stronger than she usually is. However, Ran sometimes forget that she is a shikigami, and Yukari scolds her.

It's going to depend on context, like almost every interaction.

However, given Yukari's nature it is likely that Ran is used as a proxy who can be trusted to loyally communicate information both to and from her mistress.

Ran's probably knows the position Yukari would take on a number of mundane issues and would be the judge of whether it would be worth Yukari's time. Almost like an ambassador.

You may feel like you are talking to Ran, but unless it's about tofu or math you are essentially going to be emailing Yukari
