>marry a kind-hearted but also mischievous demon (more about pranks that scare people)
>mother is a bible thumper and has some serious reservations about my marriage with her
>doesn't want my soul to be damned for hell (too late; hell isn't a bad place at all for those associated with MGs anyways)
>eventually convince my mom to meet my wife
>being the monsterphobic woman she is, she take a giant cross and turns it into a necklace to prove a point to my wife, also as protection against anything she might try
>crosses only work in the movies so my wife chuckles when she sees the giant cross dangling down from my mom's neck
>we decide to prank mom
>demon wife who's setting across from mom warps her head so it looks like it's split in half, completely contorting her facial and neck features, all while continuing the conversation as if nothing happened
>mom freaks out "SEE! SEE! She'e hellspawn! She'll kill us all"
>being in on the joke, i act confused, asking her what's wrong
>"her face! oh god! it's awful!"
>approach my wife, wave my hand in front of her contorted face
>"not sure what you're seeing but she looks normal to me. you ok mom?"
>after playing it up like my mom's crazy for a bit, she tries to settle down but is still extremely and visibly uncomfortable
>she attempts to have a conversation, with my wife still in her fucked up state
>eventually, we let her in on the joke
>mom is overcome with a mix of relief, anger, and fear; mostly relief though
>she appreciates the joke a bit, but it was still upsetting
>from there on out, things lighten up and the evening turns into a pleasant one once they start to get along
>as we leave, mom finally musters the gumption to give my wife a hug
>we're both in the convertable, and mom is seeing us off
>as she says goodbye, my wife chimes in "thanks for the wonderful meal! sorry about damning your soul to hell back there. i'll make sure you get a fairly decent place there though."
>i quickly start to drive off, the wife's just being a cheeky bugger again
>"wait WHAT? what are you talking about? Get back here!!!!"
>i continue to drive off into the distance
