You can infer that it's what Yasu believed Kinzo to have done and not definitively that he actually did it. Yasu sees Kinzo as the ultimate scumbag, so of course killing for money wouldn't be out of that version of Kinzo's character. However, there's no real reason for Kinzo to have lied to Will, unless he has deluded even himself into believing it to have occurred the way he told it, which makes Yasu's version of the tale likely incorrect.
The possibility of a character being off in a person's interpretation of them is mentioned a good bit in the story, and Kinzo himself is made to be an example of that in EP8.
Whether you believe Kinzo caused the incident or not is entirely based on your love for Kinzo. Yasu has no love for him, so she sees it to have definitely have been his fault.
