it is, and it costs more time and money to downscale it which is why upscaling 720p to 1080p was so common. what some companies that can afford it have done is downscale in the initial release and then later make an HD edition to milk their customers, some companies that have tried to increase resolutions in the past have gotten complaints and lowered resolutions for future products in response

the real irony is that japan is technologically backwards with the exception of their internet and that the average garbage mobage has higher resolution than the average VN because the platform forces it
