Shit, man. It's probably a scar many of us bear. It's true for me, at least.
Pardon in advance for the blogshit, but I once went all out on a Valentines day. Saved money for flowers, good ingredients for a home cooked meal from scratch, the whole nine yards for what I could afford at the time. Only for the response to be, at best, boredom. At worst, acting as if she'd rather be anywhere or doing anything else.
I'll take my escapist fantasy over stupid shit like that any day.
