I confess, I followed threads and spoilers just because it was so interesting to follow the reactions and discussion, LONG before I finally got around to the novels back in November. I only really bothered paying much attention once the anime started airing though, and I kind of stopped watching that midway because people were talking about how terrible an adaptation it was. This didn't stop me from keeping up with threads and amassing a ridiculous amount of art, doujins, joke comics, and those GLORIOUS fake screenshots (that generator is my favorite thing about this series I swear), all for a series I hadn't actually bothered to pick up myself. Oh, and I guess I'd also read a bit of Umineko X at some point after I dropped the show.

So yes, I think the ending sounds AWFUL based on spoilers, but I can't say I didn't get shitloads of fun out of it. I'll probably stick around for Shin and play the fighting game when WH gets to it.
