That is true but if you google news Yen 75 to the dollar, some group is trying to explain why foreign companies are buying up alot of yen now because of national attention thus increasing the demand and making the price higher... Somehow this is a good idea in preparation for the massive amount of money they will be spending for cleanup/rebuilding.

Not the smartest person in the world, but could someone explain how a country who is either at war or faced a national disaster could make their money more valuable in average relation to foreign currencies? Thank you. It just really intrigues me.
