I don't remember that much detail anon, but from what I recall it gets everything important, and even expands on it.
Actually, one complaint I have early on (that the anime also suffered from) is that they totally skip Shiki's creepy stalking of Arc all the way to her apartment, and his initial reaction to killing her (running away screaming and puking all over).
He just kills her in the park, and passes out. It's even weirder because it's in public, and people would've run into Arcueid's remains.
